LTR relieving facilitator for primary school support

Support for facilitators on a relieving basis.

FTTE up to: 0.6

Start date will depend on the applicants’ availability.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi

English, Mathematics and statistics, Social sciences

Mō te tūnga | About the role

This is a new role for us. Our team have established strong relationships with the educators we work alongside. This person will be introduced to the kura we already work alongside, and then co-create next steps with our facilitators and kura.

We are looking for someone to support Canterbury primary kaiako. The successful applicant will need to be someone who enjoys primary teaching pedagogy and has a passion for effective pedagogy in Maths.

  • From 1-3 days per week (depending on what is available and what the successful applicant can manage)
  • Must be an educator
  • Must have access to laptop and WiFi
  • Remuneration: hourly rate for mahi delivered
  • Work only in school terms

Facilitator

Reports To: Managing Director 

Start date: Flexible 2024

Position based in: Otago/Southland area

Application closing date: Friday, 1 March 2024 5:00pm

The Facilitator will play a key role in the delivery of professional learning opportunities to teachers and other education professionals in the Otago/Southland area. The Facilitator will work with the impactED team to design and deliver high-quality professional learning workshops, courses, and coaching sessions that meet the needs of impactED’s clients and align with the New Zealand Curriculum.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver PLD to schools that impactED have PLD contracts with
  • Design and deliver professional learning opportunities that are engaging, relevant, and evidence-based.
  • Work collaboratively with the Managing Director and other staff members to ensure the content and delivery of professional learning aligns with impactED’s strategic objectives and client needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with schools, school leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that professional learning opportunities are delivered within the allocated budget and timeframes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning opportunities using a range of methods, including feedback surveys and participant evaluations.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the education sector, including changes to the New Zealand Curriculum, and incorporate this knowledge into the design and delivery of professional learning opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the professional learning team, and contribute to the development of impactED’s policies, procedures, and resources.

Qualifications and Experience

Please only apply if you have been/are a NZ Registered Teacher (it is fine if your registration has lapsed). We will not consider job applications from outside of New Zealand, who have not taught in New Zealand.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering high-quality professional learning opportunities, or across Kāhui Ako coaching and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the New Zealand Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development.

 

Working Conditions

impactED offers a supportive, dynamic, flexible, and collaborative work environment. Our approach to employment is flexible for this role. We are looking to support the right person with a solution that works for them. This might be either:

Full-time fixed term for 1 year

or

Contract position (hourly rate) with a minimum of 25 hours delivered per week within school term time (40 weeks of the year)

Full-time facilitators 

  • are expected to work 40 hours per week
  • receive 7 weeks of paid leave over the year
  • travel on a regular basis 
  • Must have a full drivers license
  • Receive a laptop and any work resources required
  • Cell phone contract supplied
  • Work vehicle will be supplied

Contractors

  • Will need to process their own income tax
  • Need to provide their own resources for the job (including cell phone and laptop)
  • Will be paid mileage for use of own car
