About the Event

The Esports Tech hui will provide Kaiako with an overview of what it takes to run – and play – esports.

This hui will give you an understanding of how the various software, hardware and network components fit together, enabling you to have conversations with school IT staff to get everything set up for an esports program.

There will be a practical component too – kaiako will set up their own game and Discord (communications) accounts, access online tournament tools, and receive an introduction to setting up recording and streaming software.

What to bring.

Please bring your fully charged devices.

Who is this event for?

This session is suitable for Years 6/7 and up kaiako and senior leaders who are interested in implementing an Esports programme in their school and showing their ākonga new and exciting futures Esports.

Why is this event free?

This is a free event to support kaiako.

Here at impactED we are activists against boring PLD, plus we know kaiako work hard and deserve the best PLD possible so they can then give the best to their ākonga.

We are passionate about education and believe in sharing our mahi with as many kaiako and ākonga as possible. To make this happen we collaborate with other amazing PLD facilitators and are granted funding by respective organisations.

Delicious Kai and refreshments will be available.

Te Ao Māori values will be upheld throughout the hui.

Delivered in English Medium, inclusive to all.

This is a collaboration hui with Gamestah and impactED.

Ticket Policy We enjoy sharing the free mahi with everyone. However, we have recently been experiencing people booking in and not attending the hui. This causes us over-cater our events and disrupts our hosts' planning. We have decided, that 24hrs notice must be given if you are unable to attend this hui or a fee of $10.00 is payable to impactED to cover catering, and where applicable, venue costs. Invoices will be delivered to the email in the booking form, and payment in full is the responsibility of the owner of the email address to pay within 2 weeks of delivery.
