Hour of Code - Minecraft:EE (1:30pm)
Time & Location
About the Event
Travel through time to solve coding puzzles and save the future!
In this year’s free Minecraft: Education Edition Hour of Code lesson, students are challenged to travel back through time to correct mysterious mishaps throughout history using their coding skills.
From the great jazz players of the 1920s who are playing kazoos instead of trumpets to the grand pyramids of Giza that are being built as cubes instead of triangles, your ākonga will use their creativity to solve fun puzzles through time!
Inside this 60-minute session, you and your class will choose their own adventure and connect with great innovators and inventions in science, architecture, music, engineering, and more.
Let us be your team-teacher for this coding adventure. Think of us as your guest speaker or co-teacher for this lesson. We’ll join your class, via a Teams link, and facilitate the lesson with you. We’ll show you and your class how to use MinecraftEDU and help if you get stuck!
All you need to do is register to receive the link to the lesson, project your laptop to a TV or screen at the front of the classroom and we’ll do the rest.
Please do make sure that all your ākonga have Minecraft Education Edition installed and their logins up and running on their devices. Devices may be Mac, Windows, Chromebooks or iPads.
Facilitated by Wilj Dekkers Funded and supported by Microsoft New Zealand.
