About the Event
Maths education has gone through many transformations over the years, with new ideas and tools introduced. Recently, key themes around what makes a quality Maths teaching and learning programmes have become clearer, building strong links to our Local Curriculum.
We will look at how themes such as:
- Growth Mindset
- Kaupapa Māori
- Authentic Contexts
- Assessment for Learning
- Important Learning, not left to chance
All these elements fit together to build a strong and equitable Maths curriculum.
This hui is facilitated by Jackie, who is on leave from her role as Head of the Mathematics and Statistics faculty at Mount Hutt College. She is passionate about providing quality teaching and learning in Maths for all students.
Who is this event for?
This session is suitable for Years 1-13 kaiako and senior leaders who are interested in learning new strategies for Delivering Maths through a Local Curriculum Lens.
Why is this event free?
This is a free event to support kaiako in the area.
Here at impactED we are activists against boring PLD, plus we know kaiako work hard and deserve the best PLD possible so they can then give the best to their ākonga.
We are passionate about education, and believe in sharing our mahi with as many kaiako and ākonga as possible. To make this happen we collaborate with other amazing PLD facilitators and are granted funding by respective organisations.
Delicious Kai and refreshments will be available.
Te Ao Māori values will be upheld throughout the hui.
Delivered in English Medium, inclusive to all.
